Initially set-up by its Principals to acquire US properties for its own investments, FGI has spent the past 12-18 months conducting intensive due diligence and establishing important networks in the US.  After gaining an in-depth understanding and also the ability to manage assets hands-on, FGI began making its initial investment in Texas.

The US real estate market is beginning a recovery from the post-Lehman crisis.  The US government and Fed have clearly targeted US housing recovery as a key pillar in its policies.  As such, US real estate has been targeted by several well-known investor groups.  However, the US real estate market is not uniform, with nuances such as economic fundamentals, taxes, demographics, etc varying from state to state. With its in-depth understanding and the insistence on intensive hands-on management, FGI feels that these investments, when structured and managed properly, presents excellent risk-adjusted returns and would be attractive to Asian-based investors looking to invest in overseas markets, both on an absolute and risk diversification perspective.
